How to draw Patrick Star
Your finished Patrick Star drawing!
Hey there, Doodleers! Today, we’re staying in Bikini Bottom to learn how to draw SpongeBob’s hilarious best friend—Patrick Star. This easy step-by-step guide will help beginners create their very own Patrick drawing while keeping it fun and simple.
Grab your pencils, and let’s start doodling!
Quick Tip: Always start your drawing lightly with a pencil—this way, you can easily erase any little mistakes, and your final artwork will look clean, neat, and totally awesome!
Step 1
Start with a nice round circle. This will be his belly and the base for his shape.
Step 2
Add a rounded rectangle on top of the circle for his head. Add in some circles for his eyes.
Step 3
Add a jellybean mouth near or over his eyeball. Add a little belly button sticking out of his belly. Add some lines to outline his shorts.
Step 4
Give him a tongue and if you’re up for it, a tooth! Add some rounded arms and legs and a seam for his shorts.
Step 5
Add his pupils on his eyeballs. Give him some eyebrows over those eyeballs. Add the flowers to his shorts and a little X where his belly button sticks out. We chose to also add some hair around his body to make him a little funnier!
Step 6
Carefully erase all the initial pencil guidelines, leaving a clean, inked drawing of Patrick ready to be colored!
Step 7
Bring Patrick Star to life with vibrant colors! Use bright fleshy pink for his body, bright yellow-green for his shorts, and purple for the flowers on his shorts. Don’t hesitate to add your own creative touch—try different expressions or fun accessories!
At DoofyDoodles, we love adding silly twists to our characters. Try giving Patrick funny expressions, sunglasses, or even a superhero cape—make your drawing one-of-a-kind.
