How to Draw a Werewolf (Badly!)
✏️ New here? Check out all our drawing tutorials.
Get ready to howl — today we’re learning how to draw a werewolf, the fuzzy fright that’s half human, half wolf, and totally ridiculous when drawn badly.
In this step-by-step guide, you’ll turn a moonlit monster into a messy masterpiece with just a pencil, paper, and your wild imagination.
Don’t worry about perfect fur or fierce fangs. This is DoofyDoodles, after all — where the goal is to have fun, not to ace anatomy.
Quick Tip: Always start your drawing lightly with a pencil—this way, you can easily erase any little mistakes, and your final artwork will look clean, neat, and totally awesome!
Step 1
Draw a circle for his head and then a jellybean shape right below it for his torso.
Step 2
Add a large circle and a tilted oval for his two eyeballs. Put a long oval to the side for his ear and a triangular shape at the top for his other ear. Add four bent lines for his legs and one line coming out of his backside for his tail’s base.
Step 3
Add a long snout that drops below his head. Add some fluff to his tail and long loops for his feet. Add the top of his pants and four lines shooting straight down from his chest for his arms.
Step 4
Add our wolf’s curly hair and cheek fur. Add a rounded triangle for his nose and an oval for his howling mouth (with a lip dropping below it). Give him a few hands at the ends of his arms.
Step 5
Add the finer details. Add pupils, stray hairs, shirt details, the cutoff of his pants, some extra folds and his toes.
Step 6
Carefully erase all the initial pencil guidelines, leaving a clean, inked drawing of a werewolf ready to be colored!
Step 7
Bring your werewolf to life with fur (we used brown), give his hair some color, then color his outfit to make him look like a transformed human.
At DoofyDoodles, we love putting a goofy spin on our favorite characters. Feel free to experiment and create your very own unique Werewolf doodle!

Werewolf legends date back thousands of years and appear in nearly every culture around the world.
The term “lycanthropy” comes from Greek, meaning “wolf-man.”
In old European stories, people thought wearing a wolf pelt or being born on a full moon could turn someone into a werewolf.
The first major werewolf movie was The Wolf Man in 1941, which set most of the rules we still use today.
In some myths, werewolves can be cured — usually with a dose of wolfsbane or a really awkward apology to whoever they bit.
